Qualifying Ancestors
We are looking for the direct descendants of William Rittenhouse (1644-1708) and Gertrude Kersten Pieters Rittenhouse (1646-1708). Together, William and Gertrude had three (3) children - Nicholas Rittenhouse (1666-1728), Elizabeth Rittenhouse Papen (1672-1728), and Gerhard Rittenhouse (1674-1741). William Rittenhouse established the first paper mill in the North American colonies. Today, Historic Rittenhouse Town located at 208 Lincoln Drive, Philadelphia, PA 19144, encompasses the remains of the early industrial community and the homestead of the Rittenhouse Family.
